Terms of Service
Welcome to DinerOrbit. By accessing or using our Autonomous Restaurant Operating System, whether as a restaurant partner, kitchen operator, or diner placing tabletop QR orders, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms & Scope of Platform
DinerOrbit ("Platform", "we", "us", or "our") provides a cloud-based hospitality management suite including QR-code tabletop ordering, Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), Live Inventory Management, Billing & POS, and payment integration.
By signing up for an account, scanning a table QR code, or utilizing our kitchen/POS tools, you enter into a legally binding contract. If you are accepting on behalf of an entity (such as a restaurant or hotel chain), you warrant that you possess full corporate authority to bind that entity.
2. Restaurant Merchant Obligations & Menu Accuracy
- Menu Accuracy & Allergens: The restaurant partner is solely responsible for maintaining accurate item names, prices, descriptions, dietary flags (Veg/Non-Veg/Egg/Vegan), and allergen warnings on the digital menu.
- Taxation & Statutory Invoicing: Restaurants must ensure all taxes (e.g., GST, VAT, Service Charges) configured in the billing module comply with applicable local tax laws and regulations.
- Food Quality & Hygiene: DinerOrbit facilitates order dispatch and workflow automation. The quality, hygiene, preparation time, and fulfillment of food items remain the sole responsibility of the merchant.
3. Diner Tabletop Ordering & Bill Splitting
Dinors can place orders directly by scanning table QR codes. Once an order is transmitted to the Kitchen Display System (KDS) and accepted into the kitchen queue, preparation commences immediately.
Our dynamic Split-Bill feature enables multiple guests at the same table to pay their individual portions or divide the total equally. The table session is cleared only when the cumulative verified payments equal or exceed the total billed balance.
4. Payments & Merchant Gateway Integration
Payment Processing Architecture
Payments are processed via authorized third-party PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant gateways (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe, UPI Intent). DinerOrbit does not store full credit card numbers, CVVs, or bank PINs on its servers.
5. Cancellations, Modifications & Refund Policy
Because food items are prepared on-demand, cancellation rules operate as follows:
- Order Cancellation: Diners can request cancellation before an item begins cooking ("Pending Kitchen Confirmation" state). Once marked "In Preparation" on the KDS, cancellations require managerial approval.
- Failed or Duplicate Transactions: In the event of a double-charge due to network timeout or gateway sync delay, the duplicate payment will be automatically reconciled and refunded to the source account within 5–7 banking days.
- Merchant-Discretion Refunds: For complaints regarding order accuracy, quality, or service, diners should request refund processing directly from the restaurant manager on-site, who can issue ledger credits or gateway reversals via the POS dashboard.
6. Platform Uptime, Service Level & Offline Cache
DinerOrbit strives for 99.9% uptime. In the event of an internet disruption at the restaurant venue, the local KDS and POS operate with an offline optimistic cache to prevent order loss until connection is restored.
We are not liable for business interruptions caused by power outages, ISP failures, or unauthorized tampering with venue hardware.
7. Intellectual Property & Brand Usage
All software, UI designs, algorithms, OCR parsing models, and documentation are the exclusive intellectual property of DinerOrbit and its licensors. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or redistribute the platform codebase without written consent.
